Terms
Plain terms, in normal English. Please read them before using the app.
The short version: this app reads a document and explains it in simple words. It is educational, not advice. It can be wrong. It does not guarantee anything. You are responsible for checking the real numbers before you act. The makers are not liable for losses from relying on it.
What this service is — and is not
- This app is an educational tool that reads a credit card statement PDF or a screenshot of an online account page and writes a plain-English explanation of what the document appears to show.
- It is not a bank, a card issuer, a credit counselor, a financial advisor, an accountant, an attorney, a debt collector, or a credit bureau. It has no affiliation with any card issuer, and it does not speak for any issuer.
- It does not log in to any account. It only reads the file you upload for that one request.
Not financial, legal, tax, or credit advice
- Nothing this app produces is financial, legal, tax, credit, investment, or debt advice. It does not tell you whether to pay, how much to pay, when to pay, whether to dispute a charge, whether to close an account, or how to manage your credit.
- The explanations are general information put into simpler words. They are not a recommendation or a plan of action.
- Do not make, or delay, any payment or financial decision based only on what this app says.
Accuracy is not guaranteed
- The app can misread a document. Numbers, dates, rates, fees, merchant names, and account details may be read incorrectly, missed, or confused — especially with screenshots, photos, scans, or low-quality files.
- Any answer about whether a payment is due is a best read of what is on the screen or page at that moment. It is not a guarantee and is not a determination of what you owe.
- If a screenshot or statement does not show the minimum payment, balance, or due date, the app may say it cannot answer. That does not mean no payment is due.
- A "current balance" is not the same as an amount due. New charges that have not yet been billed may not be due yet.
- Always confirm every important figure against the original document in your account and, when in doubt, with your card issuer.
Your responsibility
- You are responsible for any decision you make based on information from this app, and for verifying that information before you act.
- Do not stop, reduce, or delay a required payment because this app suggested a payment may not be due. Missing a required payment can cause late fees, interest, and credit-score harm.
- If anything looks wrong, unclear, or unexpected, contact your card issuer using the number printed on the back of your card or on your statement.
No fraud or error detection
- The app does not detect fraud, unauthorized charges, identity theft, or billing errors, and it does not decide whether a charge is valid.
- It does not alert you to every problem on a statement. It may point out a possible duplicate or a printed warning, but the absence of any such note does not mean the document is correct or safe.
The service is provided "as is"
- The app and all explanations are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, reliability, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- The app may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice. Explanations may contain errors at any time.
Limitation of liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, the makers of this app are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or any explanation it produces.
- This includes, without limitation, any late fees, interest, finance charges, credit damage, lost payments, overpayments, or other losses that could result from acting on an explanation.
- If any portion of this limitation is not allowed where you live, it applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- Your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using the app.
Acceptable use
- Only upload documents that belong to you or that you have the right to use. Do not upload another person's statement, account, or financial information.
- Do not use the app to do anything unlawful, to harass anyone, to make a payment decision for someone else without their informed consent, or to attempt to extract another person's sensitive information.
- You are responsible for the content of the files you upload.
Privacy
- Sign-in is required and uses Google or Apple. The app never sees or stores your provider password.
- How your uploaded file is handled is described on the Privacy page. Account numbers and other long identifiers are masked in the explanation shown to you. Files are processed for the request and are not intentionally kept as a document history.
- Your sign-in is a temporary work-session — it clears itself automatically within 24 hours. No long-term user profile is retained. See the Privacy page for the full details.
Third-party names and marks
- Any issuer, bank, or merchant name that appears in an explanation comes from the document you uploaded. Those names and logos belong to their owners, and this app has no affiliation with or endorsement from them.
Changes to these terms
- These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
- This summary is meant to be clear and is not a substitute for reviewing the full terms each time you use the app.
